CAST AND
CREW > Lieutenant John Farrell / Jim
Goodwin
Navigator aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, replacing Lieutenant David Bailey after he left to serve aboard Balok's ship. Farrell, along with the other male crewmembers were extremely attracted to Harry Mudd's trio of "cargo women." Farrell was on duty when the transporter-created double of Captain Kirk ordered him to break orbit, marooning several crewmembers on the freezing Alfa-117. Farrell, not one to disobey his captain, reluctantly obeyed, but readily consulted Mr. Spock when the "real" Captain Kirk confronted his doppleganger. Farrell also served at the communications station, serving as Enterprise liaison to the landing party quarantined on Miri's planet. Mr. Farrell appeared in "Mudd's Women", "The Enemy Within" and "Miri."
Goodwin left the acting profession in 1979, playing the role of a guard in the movie "The In-Laws", starring fellow "Star Trek" alumnus Ed Begley Jr., (Henry Starling in the "Star Trek: Voyager" episode "Future's End, Part I and II") and Rosanna DeSoto. (Azetbur in "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.")
