The Enterprise would use the same method of time-travel to return to the 1960s in "Assignment: Earth".
   
First appearance of Lieutenant Kevin Riley. He would later re-appear in "The Conscience of the King".
   
First appearance of Nurse Christine Chapel.
   
In the script, the "Laughing Crewman" who paints "LOVE MANKIND" on the wall was supposed to later encounter Mr. Spock after he contracted the affliction and paint a moustache on his face, but Leonard Nimoy objected and the scene was scrapped.
   
Mr. Spock mistakenly refers to Mr. Leslie as "Rand".
   
Footage of Uhura at the navigation console had previously been used in "The Man Trap".
