Dr Simon Van Gelder "escapes" from the
psychiatric team on the Tantalus Penal Colony and causes Dr.
McCoy sufficient concern to demand Kirk looks into the
colony's professional methods. McCoy's concerns are soon
found to be warranted when Kirk is kidnapped and subjected
to a deadly Neural Neutralizer.
