SPECIES: Human Male
Con-artist extraordinaire, Harry Mudd's list of crimes
includes smuggling, transport of stolen goods and
purchase of a space vehicle with counterfeit currency.
His latest venture was the selling of wives to lonely
settlers. After acquiring passage aboard an unregistered
transport under the command of Leo Walsh, Mudd assumed
Walsh's name upon his death, "in memoriam" as it were.
The vessel was destroyed by an asteroid collision when
Mudd attempted to escape the U.S.S. Enterprise.
Having rescued him and his three female cargo, Mudd used
the Enterprise's emergency visit to Rigel XII to
sell his three cargo women to the miners on the planet;
married via subspace radio. Mudd also provided the three
women with the fabled "Venus Drug", a pill that enhances
a person's existing traits; making males more muscular
and aggressive and women more feminine and beautiful.
Having cracked his scheme open, Captain Kirk delivered
Mudd to the authorities, promising to appear as a
character witness at his trial... although Mudd wasn't
so sure that would help him. |

SPECIES: Human Female
One of Harry
Mudd's cargo, Eve came from an agricultural planet where
there weren't many women and desired a husband.
Although, in actuality, Eve's "normal" appearance was
slightly askew, her use of the Venus Drug enhanced her
beauty. Having taken a liking to Captain Kirk, she was
wed to Ben Childress via subspace radio, even though
Childress disproved of many of her qualities. Knowing
the Venus Drug made her appearance a complete fake, she
took the drug anyway, but was surprised to learn that
Captain Kirk switched the drug with coloured gelatin,
proving that Eve had true beauty in her all along. She
remained on Rigel XII with Childress, who claimed he
wanted to discuss some things with her. |

SPECIES: Human Male
Leader of
the mining team on Rigel XII, Childress became a rich
man by virtue of the fact that lithium crystals are a
very valuable commodity, worth thousands of time their
weight in gold and diamonds. Childress took great pride
in the fact that he could live well enough without a
wife, but wanted one nonetheless. He was wed to Eve
McHuron via subspace radio and gave Captain Kirk an
ultimatum: either he set Harry Mudd free and allow his
women to transport down to stay on Rigel XII or he
wouldn't give Kirk the lithium crystals needed to repair
the Enterprise. Childress was furious to find
that Eve was not as lovely in appearance as the Venus
Drug had led him to believe, but was willing to give her
a chance when he learned she had the power of true
beauty inside her. |
