 LEILA KALOMI

PLAYED BY: Jill Ireland
SPECIES:
Human Female

When the USS Enterprise arrived at Omicron Ceti III, Kalomi was reunited with Commander Spock, who was serving as the ship's executive and science officer. She used one of the pod plants to infect Spock, breaking down his emotional control, causing him to admit his love for her.The couple spent some blissful time together until Enterprise captain James T. Kirk reversed the spores' hold on Spock by inducing intense anger.

Kalomi attempted to rejoin Spock, but when she found him and realized he was no longer under the influence of the spores, she broke down in tears. The intense sadness she felt caused the spores within her body to be destroyed. Kalomi was later evacuated to Starbase 27 with the rest of the colonists.

 ELIAS SANDOVAL

PLAYED BY: Frank Overton
SPECIES: Human Male

When the USS Enterprise investigated the Omicron colony in 2267, Sandoval conspired with colony Botanist Leila Kalomi to infect the starship with the spores. Though he was intially successful in converting the entire crew to his colony, Enterprise Captain James T. Kirk used a subsonic transmitter to destroy the spores. Freed of their influence, Sandoval realized he had accomplished nothing he had set out to do. He planned to try to start a new colony once the Enterprise evacuated the Omicron colonists to Starbase 27.

 LIEUTENANT DESALLE

PLAYED BY: Michael Barrier
SPECIES: Human Male

DeSalle accompanied Captain Kirk on a landing party to the Omicron colony on Omicron Ceti III. DeSalle discovered that, anomalously, the colonists themselves had been the only animal beings to survive exposure to the planet's berthold rays. He also performed an analysis on the crops grown by the colonists. Like the rest of the Enterprise crew, DeSalle fell under the influence of the Omicron spores and mutinied, though he later recovered thanks to a subsonic transmitter.

 LIEUTENANT LESLIE

PLAYED BY: Eddie Paskey
SPECIES: Human Male

He was exposed to the Omicron spores. After being infected, he abandoned his post and lined up outside the transporter room. When Kirk ordered the crew to head back to their stations, he openly defied the captain and refused to obey the order. The spores lost their influence on him after Kirk and Spock built a subsonic transmitter.
