Episode Behind the Scenes

TREKCORE > TOS > EPISODES > THE ULTIMATE COMPUTER > Behind the Scenes

William Marshall, who plays Dr. Richard Daystrom, is the brother of Don Marshall, who played Lieutenant Boma in "The Galileo Seven".

Barry Russo, who plays Commodore Wesley, had previously played Lieutenant Commander Giotto in "The Devil in the Dark".

When McCoy, Kirk and Spock come out of the turbolift, McCoy's lips don't move saying "Very funny."

McCoy disappears then reappears throughout the scene when Spock and Scotty are trying to disable the M-5.

After McCoy sedates Daystrom, the three of them walk out through the sickbay doors and down the hall while the camera stands still in sickbay. Yet the doors don't close.

In one scene on the bridge of the U.S.S. Lexington, the space sensor array wasn't moving.

Dr. Leah Brahms from the "Star Trek: The Next Generation" episodes "Booby Trap" and "Galaxy's Child" was originally envisioned as a descendant of Richard Daystrom, but when Susan Gibney was cast in the role, the character was rewritten.
